This post discusses the payment of the IRS stimulus checks. Many of our clients have already received their stimulus checks via direct deposit.
If you have filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return, you can check the status of your stimulus check by visiting this website: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments. If needed, you can also use this website to update direct deposit or mailing information (if receiving a paper check). Note the IRS is planning on mailing checks starting in May and ending in September; you will be able to get your stimulus payment much quicker if you go online and give the IRS your direct deposit information.
If you have not filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return because you weren’t required to do so, you can use that same website to provide information so that you can receive your payment.
We are pleasantly shocked that the stimulus checks are already arriving and that the IRS has a tool ready to help!
