Karena Sylvester

Karena graduated from Adrian College in Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Administration with a degree in International Business and a minor in French. Karena then went on to take twenty- four hours of accounting classes at Hawaii Pacific University. In 1998 she successfully passed the CPA exam in Missouri and received her CPA license from Indiana.
After working in public accounting for four years, Karena ventured out on her own starting Karena J. Sylvester, CPA Inc. working from her home. In 2004 Mike joined her and SBS CPA group was founded.
Karena specializes in small business tax returns from S-Corporations and Partnerships to Schedule Cs and Es. She has a large concentration of real estate professionals - everything from Brokers, to Real Estate Agents, to Landlords, and “Flippers.”
Karena and her husband Mike live in Fort Wayne, Indiana where they raised two children, Kayla and Graydon. Now that they have moved out of the house, they are officially “empty nesters”. Karena enjoys traveling, walking, cooking, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts, and spending time with Mike.
